Earlier this weekend, I was on assignment in Northwest Arkansas for Fayettechill & was excited to find out I would be staying with Geshe Thumpten Dorjee Lah & his cat, Norbu. Geshe, a Tibetan Buddhist monk who teaches at the University of Arkansas, has taken in my collaborator, Devin O'Dea to live with him for the next few months.
The hospitality he gave was unparalleled, making room for me to sleep in his meditation room & feeding us straight from his garden for the two days I was in town. The chard, chive, egg & spincach stir fry & the watermelon-papaya juice acted as fuel to accomplish everything that needed to be done. Geshe's been gardening for decades now & is actively advocating for the "grow your own" movement. His garden has received city-wide recognition for it's enchanting beauty. Thanks for everything, Geshe. Until next time.Read More
